smartvote is a project run by the non-profit association Politools. smartvote is a very cost-intensive project, not least because of its high quality standards. smartvote is mainly financed by contributions from political parties and candidates, as well as by services (e.g. data analysis and surveys) provided to media partners and other organisations. In addition, there are contributions from foundations and donations from users. Finally, the members of the smartvote team and the other members of the association also make a significant contribution to the financing in the form of unpaid voluntary work. Without donations and unpaid voluntary work, the operation and continuation of smartvote cannot be guaranteed.

Support smartvote now

smartvote's income and expenditure are subject to significant annual fluctuations. A year with federal elections is a ‘fat’ year, whose surplus income has to co-finance the operation of smartvote in the following three rather ‘lean’ years. The costs and financing of smartvote in an average year are shown below.
